AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4 PF ED VR (07.03.2015)

The technological information should be in the file name, it should also be in Exifi. The camera used to take all of those photos is Nikon D4s. First, there are photos taken from one place with 2x, 1,4x and without converter. The focus was in the middle of the first focal point of the infinity. There was no point in taking them closer because from close, all the lenses draw a lot better because the details are bigger. That is why the converters are added – because it is not possible to shoot closer. In the next photo series, I reduced ISO from 3200 to 800 because even though D4s is a camera with the best ISO, the high sensitivity eats up the details. (the weather was bad, what could I do). ISO 800 photos have been taken so that the rocks would take up the same amount of room at every focal lenght (600mm, 420mm and 300mm). The photos with rocks on them are taken from a tripod, just because  it was easier to set it up. I didn’t have a tripod mount, the grip was under the camera. The photos with snowmobile are taken with 2x and 1,4x converter from the hand to show the quality of the corners. I didn’t  record all the corners with 2x because they were all good. From those photos, you can already see how good the stabiliser beacuse 600mm from the hand with 1/320 and today's wind of 10 m/s

I don’t know how to comment on the stabiliser problem. I have shot from those speeds and I have not had problems. The problem was getting a sharp photo with 1/15 but that was expectable because the the center of gravity was in the wrong place due to the lack of tripod mount and I had forgotten the distance trigger at home. With the trigger and  and mirror lock there would not have been a problem . I tried with the stabliliser and without it but the result was still the same. It was sharp enough but not as  a needle.  That time, the camera was D810  that shows all the mistakes much worse than they actually are. So, I remain undecided about the stabiliser. There are a lot of rumours in the Internet but I wouldn’t believe them because usually this kind of lens is the first telephoto lens for the user and when bad camera holding technique becomes evident, the user usually blames the technology not the person in the mirror. But time will show that if there is some kind of technological error, Nikon will fix it beacuse I believe that this lens is going to be a hit. My personal opinion is that the lens is excellent and if I had to start my photographical journey from the start, I would definitely buy this lens.
